Located in La Fortuna de San Carlos in Costa Rica, Costa Rica Cooking is a renowned tropical cooking workshop founded by Chef Scott Alan. Chef Scott is a professional chef with years of experience. He is passionate about handcrafting great cuisines and loves to share his wonderful recipes with his students. He believes in using fresh, organic and home grown products to cook the meals. Chef Scott personally conducts and supervises all of his classes along with an efficient team of local chefs. Aside from instructions and active participation, the workshop includes mouth watering meals and refreshing beverages. They classes are held at The View Arenal at the base of Arenal Volcano on the road to the Rio Fortuna waterfall. The school is open throughout the year so you can come up any time you want. However, reservations through a phone call or website is highly recommended. Minimum age requirement is 12 years old.

Chef Scott owns and runs a very popular restaurant La Fortuna, called Lava Lounge as well as a smaller cafe and deli called Gecko Gourmet. He also has a chutney making business called Buena Vida Gourmet. Once you are done with the classes, come dine at Lava Lounge and have a spectacular time. For breakfast and a cup of rich coffee, Gecko’s Gourmet Deli is a delightful place.
